Tell us something about yourself.
I have three boys—two at Manawaru School and one now at college. Life is a bit of a balancing act at the moment, split between working at the council in Te Aroha, life on the farm, running a daily "taxi service" for the boys, and staying involved with their sports.
How was school for you?
I loved primary school in Switzerland! A bit of a challenge to start with here not knowing any English but coming from a small school over there, I really value the close-knit community environment. It’s that same supportive, community-focused learning environment that I love so much about Manawaru School today.
What is something you have learnt since coming on the Board of Trustees?
Since joining the board, I've truly realized just how much work goes on behind the scenes to keep our school running so well. It has given me a huge appreciation for the dedication of our staff and the sheer amount of planning it takes to create such a supportive learning environment for our kids.
