Pene Marshall
Elected Parent-
Manawaru School Board of Trustees
Tell us something about yourself.
I have three children, two at school and one due to start next year. I have been part of the Manawaru community for the last 6years. Where I have been involved in school life and Playcentre. Before moving to Manawaru, we have lived in a few different places between Rotorua and Pukekohe. Where I worked on the frontline in community mental health, after receiving my Bachelors in Psychology from Waikato University. Now, my days are filled with running after 3 boys and their numerous pursuits!

How was school for you?
I started my schooling life in Australia whilst my family had a ‘5 year holiday’ before moving back to New Zealand, and settling in Katikati and later Waihi. I enjoyed my primary school years, if I wasn’t busy creating in the art area, I was keeping active and always up for an adventure!
What is something you have learnt since coming on the Board of Trustees?
I have been part of the board for just under a year now. I am still learning all the parts of this. However, I am constantly in awe of the dedication and amazing work that goes on behind the scenes by our teaching staff, BOT, the school community and beyond. Ensuring that each child has a positive experience during these primary school years, as they are supported and prepared for life beyond Manawaru School.
